Our volunteers

BAAM also has dozens of volunteers from all kinds of backgrounds, united by their attachment to the arts. Over the years, they have offered their competencies to organizations in every artistic field and are recognized as active leaders in cultural philanthropy.

There are many ways to help: donating services, participating in event organization, supporting production, solicitation, etc. All these tasks are distributed according to personal interests and professional competencies. Many of our volunteers decided to be a part of our team after attending just one event and benefiting from the exposure to the arts and artists. Marie-Ève is one example:

"The first BAAM event I attended was the benefit auction for Les Éditions esse, with a behind the scenes visit. I was already interested in contemporary art and I often visited museums and galleries, but I didn’t dare acquire anything. I was a little intimidated, but I was also afraid to make the wrong choice and end up with buyer’s remorse. During this auction, I asked myself “Why not?” I calculated how much I could spend on an artwork. I was motivated by the idea of encouraging a Quebec or a Canadian artist, so I left the auction with my first acquisition: a canvas by painter Rick Leong. Since then, I have added one or two works to my modest collection every year."
